What is a presentation folder?

The purpose of a printed presentation folder is to present information to a prospective or existing customer. This information is usually in the form of printed inserts, flyers, leaflets, brochures or other such documents. This printed material is held and presented within the business folder, made easily accessible to the user, but retained securely. Often used as a business marketing tool, presentation folders allow a business to present their relevant information in an eye catching and visually striking manner. Presentation folders ca be manufactured with many different styles of flap and can also be die-cut into many shapes and sizes including A3 presentation folders, A4 presentation folders, A5 presentation folders and bespoke size presentation folders.

Why use a presentation folder?

Although it is possible to make presentation folders from thinner or lighter paper stock, the business folders will have better durability if made from heavier paper stock. The rule of thumb is, the thicker the printed folder material, the better. A recommended minimum paper weight for presentation folders is 300gsm (Grams per Square Meter), and also 400gsm.

Presentation folders tend to come in a variety of forms, from pre-manufactured and assembled, to flat and ready to fold. However, they all share a common feature, which is the way in which they are folded. Usually a printing agency will provide a selection of different folder styles, which can incorporate things like business card holders and pockets. If the material to be inserted into the folder is quite thick, then a good printing agency should provide you with the option to have the folders with a deeper spine to accommodate this.
