Harrods Orders Genuine Leather Menus for The Steakhouse

Harrods is a legendary landmark in luxury British retail, attracting millions of wealthy customers from all over the world with its amazing product selection. The store was opened in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod as an expansion of his own humble East End tea shop and grocery. Harrod’s son Charles Digby Harrod built the business into a thriving retail shop selling stationery, vegetables, fruit, perfumes and medicines.

The business expanded rapidly and by 1880 Harrod had acquired all of the adjoining buildings and was employing 100 people. In 1883 the store burnt to the ground, but Charles still fulfilled all of his commitments to make Christmas deliveries, which gained him a profit as well as a distinguished reputation. A new building was built on the same site and business thrived. Some of the most famous customers included Charlie Chaplin, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, Laurence Oliver, Vivien Leigh, A.A. Milne, Sigmund Freud and several members of the British Royal Family. The motto of Harrods is the Latin phrase “Omnia Omnibus Ubique” which translates to “All Things for All People, Everywhere”. This store attracts approximately 15 million customers every year.

This high end department store contains seven floors and 330 departments, showcasing the very best in luxury merchandise including jewellery, accessories, homewares and technology. There are also 28 restaurants within the store including Bentley’s Sea Grill and The Georgian. Customers can enjoy a personal shopping service as well as “The Penthouse”, which is a private suite designed for offering a bespoke shopping experience.
