The Polar G-Series (Model GE959) features a powerful 12,000 BTU cooling capacity and 2.78kW of heating power. This versatile 3-in-1 design includes heat, cool, and dry (dehumidifying) modes, offering commercial venues and offices efficient year-round climate control from a single plug-in appliance.
This unit is engineered to heat or cool commercial and domestic spaces up to 25 to 26 square metres (m²). It is highly effective for localized climate control in areas with restricted ventilation, such as small dining rooms, busy office spaces, or specific restaurant hot zones.
Yes. Like all commercial-grade portable air conditioners, it requires external ventilation to exhaust hot air. The unit comes supplied as standard with a flexible exhaust hose and a convenient window kit, allowing for quick and straightforward setup right out of the box.
Yes, the Polar G-Series is robustly built for professional environments. Constructed from heavy-duty, easy-clean ABS plastic and equipped with sturdy castors for effortless mobility, it is designed to withstand the daily demands of both front-of-house guest areas and busy back-of-house commercial kitchens.
The Polar G-Series is designed to effectively cool or heat rooms up to approximately 25–26m². This makes it ideal for offices, meeting rooms, hotel bedrooms, cafés, bars, retail spaces, reception areas, treatment rooms and other small to medium-sized commercial environments. Performance may vary depending on insulation, ceiling height, window size and direct sunlight.
Yes. Unlike many portable air conditioners, this model provides both 12,000 BTU cooling and 2.78kW heating, making it a practical all-year-round climate control solution. During warmer months it keeps rooms comfortably cool, while in colder weather it can quickly provide additional heating where it’s needed.
Absolutely. The Polar G-Series has been designed for professional use as well as homes and is suitable for restaurants, cafés, pubs, bars, hotels, homes, home offices, offices, reception areas, hair & beauty salons, healthcare settings, retail shops, and temporary workspaces. It’s portable design means it can be moved wherever additional cooling or heating is required.
Very little installation is required. The air conditioner is supplied with an exhaust hose and window kit, allowing warm air to be vented outside through a suitable window. Simply position the unit close to the window, connect the hose and plug it into a standard UK mains socket. No permanent installation is necessary.
Portable air conditioners remove heat from the room. That heat must be expelled outside through the supplied ventilation hose. Without proper ventilation, the warm air would simply circulate back into the room, reducing cooling performance.
It is generally recommended to use the supplied hose at its standard length. Extending the hose or introducing sharp bends can reduce airflow and make the unit less efficient.
Technically the unit will operate, but cooling performance will be significantly reduced if the hot exhaust air is not vented outdoors. For best results, always install the supplied window kit correctly.
Yes. The Polar G-Series includes a Dry Mode, helping remove excess moisture from the air. This is particularly useful during humid summer weather or in rooms affected by condensation.
Yes. The unit includes a fan mode with three selectable fan speeds, allowing you to circulate air without using the cooling function. This is useful on milder days when full air conditioning isn’t required.
The maximum published sound level is 65 dB(A) under test conditions. Actual noise levels depend on room acoustics, flooring and operating mode. Positioning the unit on carpet or another soft surface can help minimise vibration and perceived noise.
Yes. The supplied remote control allows you to adjust temperature, operating mode and fan speed without needing to access the control panel directly. The unit also features an easy-to-use touch-screen display.
Yes. Integrated heavy-duty castors allow the unit to be wheeled easily between different locations, making it ideal for businesses or homes where cooling or heating placements change throughout the day.
The unit operates from a standard 220–240V UK mains socket using a conventional BS1363 plug. No specialist electrical installation is normally required.
The removable air filter is designed for easy cleaning. Regular maintenance helps maintain airflow, improves efficiency and keeps the circulated air cleaner.
The filter should be inspected regularly, particularly during periods of frequent use. In busy commercial environments it may require cleaning every few weeks to maintain optimum performance.
Yes. Once you’ve selected your desired temperature, the air conditioner automatically cycles its compressor as required to help maintain a consistent room temperature while reducing unnecessary energy consumption.
The Polar G-Series carries an Energy Efficiency Class A rating, helping deliver effective cooling while reducing electricity consumption compared with lower-rated portable units.
For many commercial and domestic spaces up to approximately 25–26m², a 12,000 BTU unit offers excellent performance. Larger rooms, areas with extensive glazing, south-facing windows or high occupancy may require additional cooling capacity.
Yes. Many hotels use portable air conditioners to provide temporary cooling in guest rooms where fixed air conditioning is unavailable or impractical. The heating mode also makes it useful during cooler months.
Yes. Portable air conditioning is an excellent solution for offices where permanent installation isn’t possible. It can improve employee comfort during warm weather while being moved between meeting rooms or workspaces as needed.
The unit can be used in commercial kitchens where additional spot cooling is required, although very hot cooking environments may reduce overall cooling effectiveness.
During normal cooling operation much of the collected moisture is automatically evaporated and expelled through the exhaust system. Under very humid conditions or when operating in Dry Mode, manual drainage may occasionally be required following the instructions in the user manual.
The Polar G-Series Portable Air Conditioner and Heater is supplied with a 2-year parts and labour warranty, providing additional peace of mind.
The Polar G-Series combines powerful cooling, effective heating, dehumidification and fan-only operation in one portable appliance. With simple controls, easy mobility, commercial-grade construction, an A energy rating and straightforward installation, it offers a versatile climate control solution for many environments.
