Frequently Asked Questions
Moffat In-Counter Plate Dispenser DHP2 FAQs
How does the Moffat in-counter plate dispenser DHP2 support busy commercial serveries?
It is a double heated plate dispenser for commercial servery and display areas, keeping plates warm, ready to use and accessible at counter level. Its pop-up presentation makes each plate easy to retrieve during service, with the next plate rising into position automatically.
How many plates can the Moffat in-counter plate dispenser DHP2 hold, and what plate sizes fit?
It has a maximum capacity of approximately 130 plates in total, split between 2 tubes holding around 65 plates each. Four guide rods in each tube adjust without tools to accept plates 8-12 inches (205-305 mm) in diameter. Actual capacity varies with plate type, profile and thickness.
How does the Moffat DHP2 heated plate dispenser present plates for service?
A variable multi-spring system supports plates of different weights on an adjustable floating platform. When the top plate is lifted away, the mechanism raises the next plate into position, providing repeated pop-up presentation and quick access during service.
How is the temperature controlled on the Moffat DHP2 heated plate dispenser?
A factory-set thermostat controls the internal air at 60°C, while an illuminated on/off switch is positioned at surface level for convenient operation. The heating components distribute heat evenly, and the unit is designed for 24/7 operation.
What electrical connection does the Moffat in-counter plate dispenser DHP2 use?
The DHP2 is a 1200 W, or 1.2 kW, single-phase model supplied with a 2 metre cable and fitted 13A plug. It is self-contained, with integral electrics that avoid the need for a separate under-counter control box.
What are the dimensions and weight of the Moffat DHP2 plate dispenser?
The DHP2 has a 400 × 740 mm countertop footprint, with 150 mm above the display top, and weighs 28kg. These measurements should be considered alongside the separate counter cut-out requirements when planning the installation.
What counter cut-out does the Moffat in-counter plate dispenser DHP2 require?
The DHP2 requires a 720 × 380 mm counter cut-out, with a 13 mm routed edge for a flush fit at 25 mm depth. The counter must be level and strong enough to support the unit, with clear space below and a continuous bed of silicone sealant securing it to the work surface.
What materials and covers are used on the Moffat DHP2 heated plate dispenser?
The dispenser has a silver stainless-steel finish and a bright polished stainless-steel interior. Its 2 heated plate tubes have impact-resistant black ABS lids, helping cover the plates while providing durable protection in a working servery.
Does the Moffat in-counter plate dispenser DHP2 have taps?
No, the DHP2 has no taps. Its required service connection is electrical, using the fitted 13A plug and cable.
What warranty covers the Moffat DHP2 heated plate dispenser?
In Great Britain, it includes a 2-year on-site parts and labour warranty. For EIRE, the warranty is 2 years parts only, so buyers should account for the different service coverage when ordering for an Irish location.
What should buyers know about ordering and returning the Moffat DHP2 plate dispenser?
This model is special-to-order rather than a standard stocked item. If it is returned, a £150 restocking charge applies, so the plate capacity, dimensions, electrical connection and counter cut-out should all be checked carefully before ordering.
Who manufactures the DHP2 in-counter plate dispenser?
The manufacturer is Moffat, and the model and supplier reference are both DHP2. This identification helps distinguish the double heated dispenser from the single-tube DHP1 and the unheated DUP models in the same product family.
Can the Moffat heated plate dispenser DHP2 be cleaned with a hose or water jet?
No. A hose or water jet must not be used to clean the unit. This restriction helps protect its electrical and temperature-control components from inappropriate water exposure.
What operating environment is suitable for the Moffat DHP2 heated plate dispenser?
It is for indoor use in a dry, clean room with an ambient temperature from 3°C to 26°C and maximum relative humidity of 60%. The unit has an IPX4 rating and should be operated by trained staff for its intended plate-dispensing purpose.
