Gin Glasses

Copa Glasses have been used as gin glasses since the 1700's. Typically a bulbous shape, the copa gin glass is similar to larger wine glass. These glasses are designed to trap the aromas of the gin and directing it towards the consumers nose, therefore enhancing the experience. The large size of the bowl is designed to ensure that ice doesn't melt as quickly, meaning that the drink can stay cool without diluting the drink. With gin typically being mixed with plenty of ice or mixers, the large capacity also means that this is possible.

Having such a pronounced stem means that the glass creates a great silhouette and captures the attention of other guests. Being able to hold something other than the bowl also means that your guests aren't heating up the drink, ensuring that it remains at its optimum temperature and, again, ice doesn't melt too quickly.
