Frequently Asked Questions

Roller Grill Countertop Double Zone Induction Hob PID700 FAQs

Which commercial kitchens would benefit from the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob?

The Roller Grill PID700 is designed for busy catering kitchens and front-of-house theatre cooking. Its 2 independently controlled induction zones let operators prepare separate dishes simultaneously, combining visible cooking for customers with the responsiveness needed during demanding service periods.

How large are the cooking zones on the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob?

The hob has 2 cooking zones, each covering 280 x 280 mm, within an overall cooking surface of 365 x 585 mm. The independent zones provide room for 2 pans and allow their cooking settings to be managed separately.

What power and electrical connection does the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob use?

Each induction zone delivers 3000 W. The appliance uses a 230V nominal supply with a separate 13A plug connection fitted for each zone, allowing both zones to provide full power independently without requiring one shared high-current connection.

How precisely can the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob be controlled?

Each zone has its own controls and 20 selectable power levels. This gives the operator immediate, precise adjustment of cooking power on either side, making it easier to run 2 different cooking tasks at the same time.

How energy efficient is the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob?

The hob converts 95% of the energy used into cooking power. Induction transfers heat directly through compatible cookware, supporting fast responses to control changes while reducing the energy lost around the cooking area.

Can the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob be used for sautéing and browning?

Yes. Each 280 x 280 mm induction zone continues heating while the pan is being worked or lifted approximately 30–40 mm above the glass, supporting sautéing and browning without losing heat.

How robust is the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob's glass surface?

The vitro-ceramic glass is 4 mm thick and can support up to 20kg. A steel bar protects its front edge, helping the cooking surface withstand the pan handling associated with frequent commercial use.

Can the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob sustain prolonged full-power cooking?

Yes. Its ventilated inductors have been tested at full power for 8 hours without cutting out. Operators should keep the ventilation openings unobstructed so the cooling system can continue protecting the internal electronics during prolonged service.

What is the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob made from?

The appliance has a silver stainless-steel body, a vitro-ceramic cooking surface and supporting feet. It is 400 mm wide, giving it a relatively narrow counter presence while still providing 2 separate cooking zones.

How much does the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob weigh?

The appliance weighs 15kg. This is the weight of the hob itself and is separate from the glass surface's 20kg supported load, so the 2 figures should not be treated as the same measure.

How does the timer work on the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob?

After selecting one of the 20 power levels, the timer can be set from 1 to 99 minutes with the plus and minus controls. At the end, a signal sounds and heating stops. The display can also show a flashing H while the glass remains above 60°C.

Which pans work with the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob?

Use induction-compatible cookware such as suitable enamelled steel, cast iron or induction-ready stainless steel pans. A power display that continues flashing can indicate incompatible cookware or a pan under 16cm in diameter; a magnet attaching firmly to the base is a useful compatibility check.

How should the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob be cleaned?

Switch off and unplug the hob before cleaning. Light marks can be softened with hot water and wiped away. Cooked-on residue may be treated with a glass scraper, while suitable ceramic-glass cleaner can be used for marks caused by sugar, aluminium or melted plastic. Do not use a steam cleaner.

What routine ventilation care does the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob need?

Keep the ventilation openings clear during operation. The filter underneath should be cleaned approximately weekly with soapy water or in a dishwasher, then allowed to dry fully before being returned. If F7 appears, check that the appliance's ventilation is clear and operating.

What warranty is included with the Roller Grill PID700 induction hob?

The Roller Grill PID700 includes a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. Following the operating and maintenance guidance, using original replacement parts and arranging qualified repairs help protect the appliance and reduce avoidable service problems.

How can I identify the Roller Grill double-zone induction hob when ordering?

This Roller Grill induction hob is Smart UK SKU CZ998 and manufacturer model PID700. It is the silver, stainless-steel countertop unit with 2 independently controlled cooking zones and is made in France.
